Birthday Girl

I had a great day last Saturday when I (finally) turned 21! I had a very classy evening in the city with my parents. We had a delicious dinner at Frontera Grill—we split a lot of little plates, including guacamole, enchiladas with mole, sopes rancheros, ceviche, and chipotle-glazed ribs. The dinner was complete with a fantastic chocolate pecan pie and a mini tres leches cake for my birthday. Yum-o! And of course, the mojito I had with dinner wasn't bad either.

After dinner, we had drinks on the terrace of the Trump Tower. I got a Sidecar. Not sure what's in it, but the glass was rimmed in sugar, so I was sold!

It was refreshing to have a very fancy affair on my birthday—something I'd never be able to afford on my own! Another favorite part of the day? The dress I wore in the city. I love the bold stripes and bright colors. I paired it with a tough faux-leather jacket as a nice contradiction to the lady-like skirt.

My mom and me on the water taxi to Michigan Avenue. Thanks for a great day, Mom!

Tres leches cake. Delish!

So cute!

Beautiful Sidecar cocktail at Trump Tower.

Cheers to 21 years!

Can't believe I work in this city!

Beautiful Chicago River.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes!
